What is Top Gear?

Top Gear originally started in 1977 as a simple magazine programme featuring a diverse mix of presenters, a few of which went on to front the Channel 5 rival motoring show 'Fifth Gear'. During 2002 the iconic show was updated to be studio based whilst placing more of an emphasis on the program's unique humour and the banter between presenters James May, Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond. One of the most popular features of the show is the unusual tests they perform on the models, like the famous Top Gear review of the Toyota Hilux. Tests included smashing the car into a tree and repeatedly hitting it with a wrecking ball. Top Gear is a must see for any true motoring enthusiast.
